Melitia Cottage
This delightful Grade 2 listed cottage was built around 1860, a boom time in Liskeard’s history. Liskeard is an ideal base from which to explore. Situated at the head of the Looe Valley, it has long been an important market centre and was one of the four original Stannary towns. The mining industry played an important part in the town's growth and in 1828 a canal link enabled ore and stone to be carried down to Looe. The railway, which replaced it, has become today's single-track branch line along scenic wooded riverbanks, the Looe Valley Line.
Set on three floors, this cottage has undergone extensive refurbishment, uncovering an original granite fireplace. There is gas central heating and a fully fitted kitchen. On the first floor is a double bedroom and shower room. Up on the top floor is a twin room, with views of Liskeard’s skyline through the velux window.
At the back of the property is a postage stamp size patio, but Castle Park and Sun Girt Lane Park only 5 minutes walk away.
There is on road parking, on a first come, first serve basis with other residents, but a large car park is available, 2 minutes away.
